Mark Whitten is a Senior Biological Scientist at the Florida Museum of Natural History in the lab of Norris Williams.  Their research program on orchid evolution and pollination biology has trained numerous graduate students from the US and Latin America, and their research is summarized by contributions in a multi-authored reclassification of the orchid family, Genera Orchidacearum Volumes 1-5, published by Oxford University Press.
